Seaside resorts in Vend\u00e9e<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

These 2 seaside resorts<\/strong> are very popular with the general public, primarily for their long beaches. Les Sables d’Olonne is world-famous for the start of the Vend\u00e9e Globe<\/strong> and for the walk along the embankment<\/strong> that runs the length of the beach. Saint-Gille-Croix-de-Vie is a more picturesque town, with its fishing port and rugged coastline leading all the way to Saint-Jean-de-Monts. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\r\n <\/div>\r\n<\/section>

Your fishing trip to Lac du Jaunay<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Well-known for its fishing, Lac du Jaunay<\/strong>, located 3km from the campsite, is a drinking water reserve<\/strong> covering 114 hectares<\/strong> and stretching 8 km. To fish<\/strong> there, you need to buy a card at our reception desk. Numerous hiking trails <\/strong>are accessible from the Saint-Julien-des-Landes campsite<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The old-fashioned fair in Challans<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

2 Thursdays a month, you can step back in time at the Foire \u00e0 l’ancienne in Challans<\/a>. Traders at the fair<\/strong> will welcome you in traditional period costume.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\r\n <\/div>\r\n<\/section>

The Vend\u00e9e, ideal for water sports activities<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Gois passage<\/strong> leading to the \u00cele de Noirmoutier is a submersible Roman road<\/strong>. The sea retreats according to the tides to give way to the cars. You can discover the island via the salt marshes, and take a break to sample Noirmoutier<\/a>‘s famous<\/strong> oysters<\/strong> and potatoes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For a change of scenery, head for the\n \u00cele d’Yeu<\/a>\n<\/strong>This small island lies 17 km off the Vend\u00e9e coast, 45 minutes by boat from Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Within its 23 km\u00b2 of landmass, the island boasts a wide variety of landscapes<\/strong>: long beaches and coastal dunes, a wild coastline with towering cliffs enclosing sandy coves, moorlands with short grass, sunken paths criss-crossing the valleys, and hedged farmland with its many plots of land.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Ile d’Yeu offers a wide range ofwater sports<\/strong>, cycling<\/strong> and hiking<\/strong> activities, as well as numerous beaches <\/strong>for swimming and lounging.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
